I don't know where the time keeps going... It seems like every time I turn around another week has gone by. Hopefully I'll start slowing down a little bit over the next two weeks. I had a great weekend. I found out on Wednesday afternoon that my clinical was cancelled for Thursday, so I ended up having a four day weekend, more or less. I had to go in to the hospital from two to four on Thursday for a seminar on oxygenation (yippee). Then I spent the evening with the new boy. I was supposed to just be stopping by to visit for a couple hours, since he had made plans to hang out with another of his friends for dinner, but he ended up inviting me along. We went to Flash's, which was fun and relaxed, and we were home early. Friday I worked on a paper I had due for my Nursing Process class, and managed to get it finished up in plenty of time that afternoon to get ready to go out -- a friend of mine took me to the premier of the auto show down in South Boston. That turned into a very long night, quite unexpectedly. He picked me up at six thirty, and we headed into the city. We stopped at Lucky's for a drink before we went to the show, and we ended up spending about two hours at the Expo Center once we got there. Afterward, we decided we wanted to go find something to eat, so we went over to Les Zygomates. A couple of glasses of wine later, the wait was still over an hour, so we decided to head back to Lucky's and meet up with some other friends. We finally got our food around 2:30am, at the diner down the street from Les Zygomates. It was totally worth the wait. I think I finally crawled into bed at 3:30am.
Saturday I was supposed to go to a conference on schizophrenia, but I never got a chance to register for it, and they weren't letting anyone extra in, so I didn't go. My plans for the evening were to meet up with the new boy afterward, and we were going to go out for dinner and go see The Incredibles. That never actually happened. We ended up meeting up with some of the boy's fellow alums and watching his football team at Brother Jimmy's in Harvard Square, then a bunch of us headed over to the BHP to hang out. A couple of my friends and my brother stopped by for a little bit. And then, the next thing I know, there's Jason! And his brother and cousin and friend. Of all the bars in Boston! I went right over -- it was awesome to see Mike and Josh. I ended up introducing the new boy to Jason (they're both aware of each other), and it was, truth be told, a wee bit awkward. Jason didn't even want to go over, but as far as I'm concerned, if we're really going to be friends, and be serious about really being friends, we both need to move on, and I think that includes meeting the new SO's. Not that we're going to hang out and double-date or anything (let's be serious), but it shouldn't be awkward. Truth be told, I felt a little uncomfortable myself, but I thought it would be a bit odd that they were both sitting in the same bar, not ten feet from each other, and I didn't introduce them. Anyway, the boy was okay with it, and now that it's out of the way, it's kind of like the end of the old relationship was cemented just a little bit more. Moving on...
After this week is over, I should get a chance to catch my breath a little bit. I have an exam tomorrow in Biobehavioral that I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail. I should really go study for that... Then right after class I'm heading down to Providence for the night. I have to go to court on Tuesday morning to fix a speeding ticket I got down there in September, so I'm going to crash at my brother's place at P.C. After court on Tuesday morning, I have to head straight back up to Newton to go to clinical in the afternoon, then I have plans to hang out with a friend that night. Phew! I really need to slow down. Luckily for me, the new boy is out of town on business this week, so I at least won't have him distracting me. But he's back Friday night, and we already have plans for Saturday, which I'm looking forward to. Alright, enough updating. Time for me to hit the books. Wish me luck!
