Happy Birthday NB! I had a whole weekend of birthday parties this weekend. And I had to lie about it on that last post because one of them was a surprise and I wasn't sure if the birthday boy was reading this or not... Friday night was a house party for NB's buddy, Ford; Saturday night was my best friend's surprise 30th birthday party; last night was a karaoke party at Brother Jimmy's, celebrating with NB's friend Courtney, whose birthday is also today; and this morning NB and I had our own private little party for his birthday. It was a great weekend all around.

Friday was fun, what with meeting a whole ton of cool new people, and running into someone I knew in high school, and hadn't seen in about 11 years. Saturday night was a blast. Let me just say that hanging around with that group of people does such a job for my ego. I think I got complimented more in that one night than I have in the last two years put together. Oh, and I beat NB in pool, so that was good. I've gotta show him who's boss. Then last night was great, too. We only planned on staying for a couple of hours, because the boy thought he had to get up and drive out to Natick for a project this morning (which it turned out he did not -- yay!). But we TOTALLY got sucked in by the karaoke. I even got him up on stage for a duet! He's a keeper...

Such a whirlwind of activity. And now I have to settle down and get ready for my finals next week. I can't freaking believe that this first semester is almost over. Unreal. I have a project due tomorrow that I'm totally unprepared for -- oh well, I'm not getting a grade on it, so, really, why would I care? And clinical on Thursday is basically just going to be a party. I have to present my case study, we're going to spend about two hours on the floor, and then we're leaving early to go for cocktails and celebrate the end of the semester.

I'm already looking forward to the weekend, too -- and it's only Monday! On Friday I'm working, then I'm heading in to Boston to see one of my classmates' friend's band play at the Middle East. And of course, I have plans with the boy, which will more than likely take up the remainder of my weekend. I really need to fit Christmas shopping in there at some point, too. Oh, and studying. Shit. Not enough days in the week.

Tonight I was sitting in my history class, and I turned and looked out the window, and it was snowing. It was one of those beautiful, floaty, sparkly snowfalls. And it made me remember just exactly why I love this time of year. That perfect snowfall absolutely makes the cold worthwhile. I hope it snows like that all winter long.
