The past week has been really pretty boring. My weekend was quiet. Friday night I left work because there were three girls working, and it just wasn’t worth it to stay. See, Thursday night, I worked with one other girl, and I had one table all night long. One. Table. That’s right – I made exactly $11 in four hours. Talk about a total waste of my time. So when I came in on Friday, and saw that there were three of us working, and my first table decided they were only drinking, I basically said screw this and left. Plus, on Thursday when I came in, the idiot that’s supposed to be our manager (she’s super old, and senile) told me that I could no longer switch off Thursdays with one of my coworkers. So basically I’d be working one shift every other Friday. No thanks. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy working there, but it’s just not worth my while. So I think I’m done with it. I’d like to talk with the guy who owns the place first, but that may not happen. So, since I left work, I headed in to Boston early to meet up with NB. We started out at The Parrish Café, then headed over to Houston’s to meet up with some of his college friends who were in town visiting, and from there ended up at some other bar in Faneuil Hall. Saturday we spent the afternoon at his buddy’s place watching the UVa/Maryland basketball game (double overtime – what a great game!), then we did some shopping in Downtown Crossing. My brother met up with us at about nine, and we ended up going to Lucky’s, along with another guy we had all met at a BYPA networking event last week. While I was there, I saw a guy I went to high school with, whom I hadn’t seen in about nine years, so that was interesting. Again, we didn’t stay out too late, and it was a very relaxed atmosphere, with good music, which was fun. Then Sunday, NB and I went for a walk around the South End, since it was a beautiful day (although a wee bit cold!), then watched the last two episodes of The Office. So sad! Why did they only make two seasons! I want more! Then I headed home to sing some karaoke, and leave NB to get his things together, since he had to work yesterday. I’ve got another busy week this week… Clinical this Thursday and Friday, meetings tonight and tomorrow night for my Community Health clinical, and I have two papers due next week for which I need to get some serious work done. But once I get through the next week and a half, I’m free! For at least a week, anyway – my spring break is the week of March 6th. I don’t really have any plans. I don’t really have any money, either, which makes it difficult to have plans. So, um, yeah. We’ll see what happens. If NB’s out of town on a project, I may fly out to wherever he is for a long weekend and see the sights (there’s a chance he’ll be in Chicago again, and I’ve always wanted to visit there). Or I could just stay home and save my money, since NB and I are talking about taking a few trips this spring. He wants to take me down to Charlottesville to see his college, and visit some friends. There’s the possibility of D.C. again, too, but he’s of the impression that that might be more of a boy’s weekend, so I’m not too sure that’s going to happen. And then he’s going to be in Miami for a training at some point, so we’re going to try to make it so we can spend a long weekend there. Lots of things on the planning board. In the meantime, I’m taking it day by day, trying to keep my head above water and enjoy myself in the process. I’ll update with my Pharmacology grade when I get it (as long as it’s good!). And if I have any interesting stories from my clinical this weekend, I’ll be sure to post them!
