I know it's been a while, but I just can't seem to find fifteen minutes to sit down and write an update. School is busy as ever. This semester is incredibly demanding... I'm only technically "working" three days a week, since one of my classes is online, but taking seventeen credits, and the amount of work due this semester is just ridiculous. From now until the end of the semester, I have no less than two things due each week, whether it's exams, case studies, papers, etc. And I get just about five more weeks before my review classes for my nursing license exam gets thrown into the mix -- 8am to 4pm every Saturday for five weeks around Thanksgiving. It's just crazy. The one thing that I'm glad for right now is that the Sox aren't playing this round on the west coast. It couldn't be more perfect -- tomorrow I'm in clinical from 6:30 in the morning until 3, than as soon as I get home, I get to watch them play. As I know from last year, 10pm starts are not what I need right now if I'm going to maintain any semblance of a normal sleeping pattern during baseball playoffs.
Aside from school, I've been a busy social butterfly. This past weekend, in fact, was the first weekend that I actually took a breather (by which I mean I partied hard early, instead of late). I was actually in bed before midnight both Friday and Saturday nights. And that happened in between going out for drinks Friday night, going to the Yankees game on Saturday, and watching the last regular season game on Sunday (I chose not to watch the Pats get spanked). So far, this week has been dedicated to schoolwork. I spent all of yesterday (when I wasn't watching baseball) studying for my first exam of the semester, which was today. Then tonight I came home and spent four hours working on a paper. Who knows how the rest of the week will go in terms of motivation, but I've already informed NB he's getting a me-free week. At least until Thursday after class. I really need to get myself organized, and a big part of that was making sure that I'm dedicating ample time to schoolwork. Since NB gets me all weekend, I figure I can claim four days for myself.
Probably the reason why I haven't been posting is that I just don't have any fun stories to tell. Like the story about the slutty schoolgirl costume competition that was supposed to happen last Thursday. My friends were all excited for some debauchery, and we showed up, and it was 95% sausage (and the other 5% was nothing to look at, believe you me). In the end, my friends ended up giving the dj $50 of their own money to stage a dance-off just for kicks, since the "competition" never happened. I was cheering for the fat girl to win. Use your imaginations... Very exciting.
I have this other story about a dream I had last week. It was a Halloween dream. Very appropos, I know, but here's the weird part -- it was about my ex and his new woman. And the weirdest part of all, I dreamed that they were in costume -- he was a vampire and she was a witch. Hmmm. Now, I wonder what that dream's supposed to mean?
Anyhow, I'm still around, still doing what I've been doing. Just wanted to check in and say hello, and reassure you all that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.
