It's official! I'm a nurse! And not only am I a nurse, I'm employed! I took a very part time job as a school nurse for the elementary school which I attended, as their permanent nurse is out indefinitely with an injury. So I'll at least stay on there until the end of the schoolyear, and the schedule works out perfectly with my class schedule. The pay sucks, but hey -- at least it's a paycheck! And it's a job when otherwise I definitely wouldn't be able to get one full time until the end of June. Plus, it's nice to be able to give a little bit back to my old school.

St. John was wonderful. We explored the whole island and did some amazing things. It was a perfectly relaxing week, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It would have been fun, we realized about halfway through, to have another couple with us, if only so that we could play different card games. But we really did make the best of the trip. A couple of things we wish we'd known before going over there -- there are two ferries, and we got the bad one on the way over and made the mistake of buying a round trip ticket. Don't buy a round trip ticket! Even if you get the nice one! This is mostly because you can never plan exactly when you're going to make it to the ferry on the way back, and we had to wait 40 minutes because we had tickets for a specific carrier (if we'd only bought one way, we would've just waited ten minutes).

And the other thing, is, if you're going to camp, go to Cinnamon Bay instead of Maho Bay. Sure, the eco-friendly design is wonderful, and you feel good taking part in that, plus the food is excellent, and you don't feel crowded, but at the end of the week, when you look back and realized how much you paid for a tent at Maho, and how you get, um, NOTHING in return except the environment (that you would't get at Cinnamon Bay, I mean), and how you have to do all your own housekeeping (wash dishes, strip beds, bring sheets with you when you check out, sweep, wash down all surfaces), you start to wonder what the heck you're paying all that money for, and all those good vibes and relaxed feelings go out the window. Let's just say that I feel badly for whoever gets our tents after we left, because those dishes were definitely not washed to Maho Bay's specifications.

But all that prettiness and relaxation is already out the window, as NB and I jumped right back into our routines. We got in on Monday night, and he turned right back around and flew out of town Tuesday morning, and I jumped right back into classes. The countdown has started, however -- only six more weeks left in my semester! I know, from experience, that this is going to fly by, and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. Almost more importantly, however, there are only three and a half weeks until I go to my first Red Sox game! Yay! And while I'm on the sports topic, go B.C! They play Pacific today at 12:40, and I need to go get my things in order so I can properly cheer them on.
